You don't need an account. The only place the site asks for your name or email is the contact form.

Contact form

If you send a message, we receive your name, email address and message by email, and use them only to reply. They aren't published, sold or added to any list, and analytics never sees what you type in the form.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It sets cookies and sends Google data such as the pages you view, your approximate location, and your browser and device type. It also records how you use the site's tools and how well pages work for you: how far you scroll, which filters, map controls and buttons you use, what you enter in the site's search boxes, and page speed and errors. We don't record what you type into anything else. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, and the data is kept for 14 months. For visitors in Europe and the UK, Analytics runs without cookies. To opt out, block cookies for this site, use Google's opt-out add-on, or add ?analytics=off to any address on this site once in your browser.

Stored in your browser

The county map and forecast page remember your choices, such as the election year, the selected state and the market threshold, in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device. Clearing your site data removes them.

Server logs

Like most web servers, ours keeps standard request logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, which also processes requests to deliver and protect the site.
